Tourism Nainital Bhim Tal

The town of Bhim Tal is situated around a huge lake. It is 11 kms. from Bhowali & 22.53 kms from Nainital. The pride of Bhimtal is the emerald lake, which offers magnificent vistas for the tourists. The water is a cool and swimming and boating is a rare pleasure in this beautiful lake.

The lake is with an island. The name of Bhim Tal is linked to the legendary Pandava Prince, Bhima and Lord Shiva. Boating facilities are available. Tourist Rest House and Zila Parishad Dak Bungalow exist.

There is a 17th century Bhimeshwar temple complex along the 40 feet high dam . The local bus stand and taxi stand is situated near it. One road from Bhimtal leaves for Naukuchiatal while the another one goes to Kathgodam 21 Kms from here.

Bhowali
Bhowali is an interlude of paradise. At an altitude of 1706 mtrs on the main Haldwani - Almora-Ranikhet road, it is a major health resort known for its breathtaking Himalayan views. Bhowali is situated 11kms away from Nainital City. It is also a major export centre for apples, apricot, plums, pears and other Himalayan fruits.
Sattal
At a distance of 22 kms. from Nainital, Sat Tal is a cluster of lakes once numbering seven of which only three of perennial nature are there now. It is one of the most picturesque spots of Kumaon hills and is well connected by bus service and conducted tours from Nainital.
Naukuchiyatal Lake
Situated at an altitude of 1,219 m., it is a beautiful nine cornered lake ideal for fishing and watching migratory birds. Accommodation is available in tourist Rest House & private resorts.
